Six dogs were at my parents’ home in my lifetime. Seven if you include my sister’s dog who frequently visits and is a heavy shedder. All six were fond of lying on furniture and sift dirt through the carpet. My parents have a central vacuum unit that we have always believed was quite decent but when we moved the Bissell to the second floor, which is totally carpeted, we were disgusted by how much fur and dirt accumulated. My dad vacuums the entire house at least once per week. So don’t assume that we’re just messy people who do not vacuum. The canister held fur from Fiona, our Westie, and Ellie the Pekingese who both passed away in the year 2019. The canister was full of everything inside. The good thing, however it is that the canister is very easy to empty and clean, making it less of a problem. The canister also comes with an insert for a Febreze filter that leaves a delightful smell that lasted about two days.
