1. It’s easy to use
This was the most important requirements. I wanted a label maker I remove from the box and use immediately without the need to pour over instructions. The process of making labels should be easy. The result was a huge difference in the amount of time that each label maker needed to print a label: one model was 15 seconds long, which is quite a long time when waiting for a small label to print. However, the winner took just five seconds to print the identical two words.
2. Quality of Design and Materials
I was in search of an label maker that wasn’t too bulky or heavy yet feels nice and sturdy in your hands. The high-end quality of each brand’s tape was crucial for me. Certain tapes were smooth and glossy, while others appeared matte and dull. I wanted to be sure that they were simple to use after printing, i.e. could I easily peel off the backing paper from the label tape , or did it require an flashlight and some tweezers?
3. Many Functions
As I said that I like a basic label maker. I don’t need fancy templates and I don’t require “fun” fonts. However, I will sometimes need to change the font size or capitalization. I’d prefer to make this change without having to go through the 20 pages of a guide.
